Now the weather has entered Yan Xia, at this moment, some shoveling officials will worry, will cats be afraid of heat?
There are many varieties of cats. Generally speaking, short-haired cats are more heat-resistant than long-haired cats. However, in the hot summer, even the heat-resistant cats are afraid of heat.
If the following signs appear, it means that the master has heatstroke: body temperature rises to about 41-42°C, mouth panting, nose red but dry and hot, conjunctiva and oral mucosa flushing, anorexia, vomiting, general weakness, heart rate acceleration. In severe cases, symptoms of dehydration, foaming at the mouth, purple mucous membranes, convulsions and coma will occur.

How does the cat dissipate heat?
Cats themselves will dissipate heat by sticking out their tongues, by sprouting meat pads, or by licking their hairs with their tongues, wetting their hairs with saliva, and cooling down by evaporation of water. But in the hot summer, these measures are obviously not better to help cats cool down. For this reason, when cats are afraid of heat, they should also take some measures to help cats dissipate heat better:
First of all, let the cat stay in a cool place, such as an air-conditioned room or a cool room. The cat's body temperature will be higher than the temperature of the surrounding environment, and it will naturally dissipate heat. On the contrary, the external environment is higher than the cat's body temperature. For example, the cat is in a closed car, balcony, toilet, or an unventilated home and an exposed road, which cannot dissipate heat and is very likely to suffer heatstroke.
Secondly, if you see your cat lying on the ground on all fours, it is cooling down. You can also prepare ice pads, ice pots and ice packs to help the cat master cool down. (For those who rent houses without air conditioning, please refer to the shoveling officer)
Third, let the cat stay in a well-ventilated room or use an electric fan to blow (avoid direct blowing), which will also achieve the purpose of heat dissipation. (For those who rent a house without air conditioning, please refer to the shoveling officer)
Fourth, every day should be for the cat to prepare enough, fresh water, so that the cat can drink at any time.
Fifth, don't shave the cat's hair. There are no sweat glands on the cat's skin, and the cat's hair has the function of temperature regulation and temperature control. Shaving the hair to it will not only not promote the radiation and heat dissipation of the cat's body, but also make the master unhappy, and the newly grown hair is not as good as before.
In summer, many owners will prepare for the cat's summer vacation. When the cat is alone at home, it is afraid that the cat will suffer heatstroke and turn on the air conditioner and fan for a day. However, it is very dangerous. Cats are very curious animals. It is likely that fans and air conditioners will become cat prey, so be sure to pay attention.
